Rent Apartments & Villas in Bulgaria

For a small country, Bulgaria packs a big punch as a year round self catering holiday destination. In the summer there’s the archetypal sun, sea and sand holidays on the Black Sea Coast or Bulgarian Riviera as its known. Inland, stunning mountains, forests and wild nature parks beckon the more adventurous. In the winter they turn into a playground for skiing enthusiasts, and regardless of the season, there’s a host of cultural sites and ancient cobbled towns to explore. There are also plenty of chalets, cottages and apartments in Bulgaria to base your stay.

From the breathtaking peaks of the Balkan Mountains in the south through its forested foothills to the undulating plains of the mighty River Danube in the north, Northern Bulgaria has no shortage of gorgeous countryside to explore. There is, however, a shortage of holiday cottages in Northern Bulgaria with the best choice in the east.

For more vibrant party resorts try holiday apartments in Sunny Beach or Golden Sands, the two largest resorts on the Black Sea Coast. For something more family friendly consider beach apartments in Albena, Ahtopol or Sozopol.

Sofia is relaxed with plenty of excellent sites to see and eateries to be indulged, while the choice of town houses and self catering apartments in Sofia is fair. The largest and busiest ski resort is Bansko and the oldest is Borovets. The choice of chalets and apartments in Bansko is good, but quieter Borovets is more limited.

The Rhodopes have awesome scenery of impressive peaks and deep river cut gorges. It’s here amongst a rich heritage of ancient Thracian sites and medieval castles that most of the holiday rentals in Southern Bulgaria are found. The historic city of Plovdiv on the Thracian Plain is a must see.
